The Secret Tool to Navigate Wedding Stress
Wedding planning, while exciting, presents unique challenges that extend beyond the surface. Sometimes it can be hard to share your concerns with family, friends or fiancé… This is where therapy comes in!
Why therapy now? Let’s talk about it.
Hello! My name is Noel Mitchell and I am a mental health therapist (LPC-IT) that used to work in bridal on the weekends. Through these experiences I wanted to help provide a space for brides. I specialize working with brides in Wisconsin who need tools and support to work through stress and anxiety so they can feel present and empowered on their big day.
Whether you are thriving in wedding planning or feeling like you can’t wait for the emails to stop, you are embarking on a big life transformation.
As you plan your big day, have you thought about your intentions leading up to wedding day?
• Do you want to feel more present and confident on your wedding day?
• Do you want to process family dynamics that are bringing you stress?
• Do you want to feel like the best version of yourself as you start a new chapter in your life?
• Do you want to understand why dress shopping feels so triggering?
• Do you want to have a space to share your frustration?
• Do you want to understand how to improve communication with your partner?
The beauty of therapy is that you bring the goals you want into sessions!
Therapy can often be viewed as something you only need when you’re in crisis which makes people think why would I need it before my wedding?! HOWEVER, therapy can be a space for the exact opposite purpose. It can be used as a space so you don’t reach crisis mode and feel overwhelmed, it’s a space that leaves you feeling heard and empowered.
Here are some of the top benefits of going to therapy before and or after your wedding day.
1) PROVIDES AN EMOTIONAL OUTLET FOR YOU
Therapy is a space where you can explore and process a variety of emotions without any judgment.
2) INCREASES YOUR SELF-AWARENESS
Increased self-awareness allows you to understand yourself better and regulate your emotions.
3) LEARN THINGS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE FUTURE
Learn coping skills, learn more deeply about yourself and your patterns or beliefs, understand how to set boundaries, or learn how to communicate more effectively.
4) CONFIDENTALITY
In therapy, everything we talk about is between us given there are no safety concerns. This is a space where you do not need to worry about your mom or bridesmaid sharing what you just said
I can personally understand some of the areas you navigate while wedding planning. Take a moment and pause to remember why you are planning this day! You got this!
